Hit by the Fat Pack

I'm soooo tired of it!!! The fat pack, you see it everywhere! And used right it's a good thing. BUT!!!! I have been seeing more and more of it used for evil!... Yes I said it.. EVILLLLLLL!!!!! How can it be used for evil you may be wondering.. Well let me tell you!

Everyone knows what a fat pack is.. All colors in one convenient location.. Now you say "yay I can buy all the colors I want and not have to click/buy 20 thousand times!" Yes yes we all know a wonderful thing... But what about those designers who don't separate the colors.. So you HAVE to buy all the colors!?

Now you may be saying, "But Akasha, It's still a great deal and you get all the colors" Yes, but there are those.. *hangs her head* who don't like buying all the colors. Yes, it's true.. I don't like getting all the colors.. I have very few colors that I like to wear and that's it.. I don't want all the colors of the rainbow.. And no I'm not the only one out there. We may be few, but we have a right too! Why can't we just buy the color/s that we want without having to have the hole damn rainbow force down our throats? Now I would mind so much if they were transferable.. I love to share! But most of the time they aren't.. And I ask you why? Why can't I share with my friends or a passing Av? I spent my L to get it.. Why can't I share the rainbow?

Please!! Please!!! Stop the fat pack madness and just let us picky people get the colors we want!

(and just for you people out there who say something like "Akasha, stop bitching about it and just IM the designer" Yes that is one option, but wouldn't you agree it would be a lot more easier on every one's part if they just took a few mins to box the individuals for sale? Few mins of boxing would save a lot of IM headache and of course there are those that have chosen just to sell as is and do not wish to even sell individuals.. so there :P )

Akasha, go visit Emma Glimmour of Sand Shack Surf Co. She has re-done the "fat pack" - if you can't find her amazingly redone jacket "fat packs" IM and ask her! It's worth a look!

I agree. I much prefer to buy individual items, unless I REALLY like all of the colors (or 75 percent) in a pack as well as loving the item... If I don't like most or all of the colors, or the item enough ... well ... I just don't buy it. I have yet to find something packaged in a fatpack-only set that I can't live without.

Hmmmm but I was trying to get the JellyBean Bag-o-Beans name to take off as the new fat pack name! Hey it's catchy! :p

Until they make a "40 shades of black" fat pack, count me a single shade buyer.

Maybe the creator packs it together because they want to sell it as just one product. If someone ims and says they didnt recieve a certain hairstyles. Boom its just one package for everyone so they just redrop. Also if they are people that buy multiple colors it probably saves the designer a bit of headache with them. Im sure the people that throw it in a fat pack probably wouldnt sell the hair for cheaper as a single.

Expecting designers to know what colors you want in a fat pack is unrealistic as what you want may not be what sally wants. Also I'm not sure where you get that you have a "right" to a fat pack if they choose to do one for all the colors great, If you want more then one color its pretty simple just to buy the colors you want.

Fat packs means an extra prims, more fat packs as what your asking for mean a lot more extra prims, extra packing time, extra time photographing when you add it all up for every hair its just not just a couple minutes.

Reread your post and I see your complaining about not being able to buy individual colors opposed to the fatpacks sorry misread. I think alot of designers do this precisely for the reason I wrote above to save prim space, reduce packing and photo time. Unless they are charging alot more for the fat pack then for an individual color I don't see it as a problem. I wouldnt pay a much higher price for a pack of colors I didnt want.

We all know i'm a huge fatpack lover, because I like to bloat my inventory and crash, but I do think singles should be available too, or at least SMALLER, same colour packs, it's pretty unfair JUST to have a fatpack, especially if you only want one colour.

I don't think i've ever come across a place that only does fatpacks, clearly I need to get out more, or even.. log in more.

I set out 7 skirts for 300L instead of 7 boxes each for 150L & I still get complaints. Well that's fine I chose to do it my way & you can choose not to buy it. But in the future you may wanna consider IMing the designer with suggestions instead.

You know - I feel the same way as you do. I offer both "singles" & "Fat-Packs" but I use vendors to save space. If someone buys one top and really likes it - they might come back and buy a pack or just one more. In any case I really feel that offering singles helps sales. Noobs or the budget concience need new clothes too - why discourage it by only offering fat packs?
